(Belated) Thursday Things

Well, I guess at this point, you should just expect my TT late every week. #HotMess

It doesn’t help that we’re in the middle of a big move, plus I got blindsighted by a bad cold this week. Which, as a mom, means virtually nothing except sporting a slightly further state of dischelvelment and letting your kids enjoy more screen time so you can cuddle up on the couch with a wad of snotty Kleenex. Alexa, play “Glamorous” by Fergie.

These week’s roundup:

-Holy slam dunk, Netflix! They’ve really killed it with their rom com game lately, (just re-read my last few TT to see my undying love for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.) Today, they released another homage-to-old-school-rom-com gem: Sierra Burgess is a Loser. Meet Jamey, Peter Kavinsky’s lacrosse-turned-football-player character, and Stranger Things‘ Barb, who slays it as confident, smart, and real Sierra. And sure, the romance in this movie is A+ (I mean, apart from the whole catfishing thing…), but it’s really the friendship that forms between Veronica and Sierra that had me totally ugly crying. It reminded me so much of the 80s/90s rom-coms I love. So so good. Plus, the soundtrack is bomb, so that’s a level up. So get ya popcorn and STREAM IT.

-This news story! Sometimes, the news is so full of hate, anger, and depressing commentary, and it can be hard to stay optimistic and hopeful when that’s all we see. Articles like this (seriously, so heartwarming it will make you cry) help me remember that so many people are good, and want to help those suffering around them. There is so much love out there. It inspires me to add to it by being kind and selfless. Read the story here.

“When I tell them, ‘I love you,’ and I see the smiles on their faces, that’s pure joy,” she said. “Everybody needs somebody. Seeing that they know they are loved, that’s my reward.”

-The Pinterest-found recipe I need to make STAT: Asian Chicken Meatball Lettuce Wraps with Mango Slaw. Drooooooling.

-My mini wish list this week?

And lastly, because STRESS IS REAL, here’s a Santorini sunset and Milan flower field (photos taken by moi) to relax you. Enjoy, and have a great weekend!
